a watercolor party
Share
To put us all in a festive Christmas mood, I set a pretty table for a quiet Sunday afternoon of painting.

Audrey and a few of her friends gathered around, chatting, laughing, and dipping their brushes into soft seasonal colors. By the end, they were beaming with pride over their finished paintings — truly the sweetest sight.
A watercolor workbook party is such a simple, joy-filled way to slow down during the holidays. It works beautifully for little kids or big kids like mine, small groups, book clubs, neighbors, or even as a screen-free family activity on a cozy December evening.

A tray of store-bought treats, layered greenery, and pitchers filled with candy canes make for the most festive (and delicious!) centerpiece.
The workbooks include simple, step-by-step instructions for each illustration, and the outlines are already printed on the page — making it easy for guests to follow along at their own pace.
Even if you or your friends have never picked up a paintbrush before, I promise you’ll have a wonderful time. That’s the magic of watercolor: it’s approachable, relaxing, and such a sweet way to spend time together.
If you’d like to host your own watercolor gathering, here’s what you’ll need:
SUPPLIES
-
A Watercolor Workbook of your choice (Paintable Notecards are wonderful, too!)
-
A few brushes
-
A jar of clean water
-
Paper towels
-
A white plate for mixing colors
I hope this idea helps you add extra cheer to your Christmas gatherings this year.
